Mindfulness is about focusing on what you can control, not the past or the future, but now. As it turns out, the present moment is the only moment you can really affect. The present moment is the only moment that can change. The very nature of mindfulness is the ability to focus on the now. To be conscious of your experiences to acknowledge your feelings, emotions, thoughts and actions. Being mindful means completely task switching. Focusing entirely on the incoming information and reacting to the stimuli to respond to the best of your ability. Adapting to the scenario, to the situation. The second you begin to think of the past or the future is the second you start to drift away from the now. Whilst it might be nice to reminisce about something pleasant or look to the future with hope, it’s about taking action in the present that will make all the difference to your future. The only way to genuinely change the future is to take action today.
Make today matter. Recognise your emotions, acknowledge your feelings. Simply change the way you think now to affect the results for the future. Train your brain to focus on what you can control right now. Nothing else matters.
